Company Introduction
Robotics Place was created at the initiative of regional robotics companies to enable them to improve their performance by pooling resources and combining their expertise. Constantly growing, the cluster initiates collaborative R&D projects, coordinates responses to calls for tenders, and fosters synergy between potentially competing companies in the same sector: this is Coopetition, a mindset that drives us.Robotics Place's business. Robotics, of course, where our manufacturers and integrators develop and implement production robots and cobots, is our foundation. This is complemented by mobile robotics, which enables the automated supply of production lines with AGVs (Automatic Guided Vehicles) and AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots). But the Industry of the Future, or Industry 4.0 as it's also known, encompasses many other technologies. At Robotics Place, we bring together experts across all Industry of the Future solutions, including hardware:Mobile robots are useful for carrying heavy loads, thus preventing physical strain, musculoskeletal disorders, and injuries. They allow people to focus on value-added tasks, leaving tedious and physically demanding work to the robot. In this sense, they are also tools that enable increased productivity. They can be used in stores to return clothes that have been tried on but not purchased, or as a smart shopping cart. In industry, they transport crates of parts from one workstation to another, or they follow technicians, acting as mobile toolboxes. In warehouses, they manage the transport of packages, crates, and pallets from storage areas to transit zones and vice versa. Even on the street, they accompany professionals on foot in areas where vans are impractical and parking is difficult. In hospitals, they deliver medications to healthcare staff, eliminating the need for them to walk long distances in the corridors. During the health crisis, they were also equipped to disinfect sensitive areas. They can also be seen in restaurants, delivering meals to customers.Contact us and we will put our experts on your project.Discover our Skills Development Courses. These short courses are designed for people already in the workforce or looking for a job.→ Customized training (please specify your request in the form)Robotics offers numerous advantages to the healthcare sector. In operating rooms, robotic surgical assistance solutions allow surgeons to perform more precise procedures (sometimes impossible to perform manually), and less invasive ones for patients. Patients recover faster and better from their operations, requiring shorter hospital stays, which generates savings and allows for the treatment of a greater number of patients. Robotics is also present in hospital corridors, where mobile robots transport medications from the central pharmacy to patient rooms, saving healthcare staff several kilometers of walking and allowing them to spend more time with patients. Some robots are used to disinfect rooms between patients, particularly when disinfection with high-powered UV lamps is required, as these are incompatible with the presence of staff in the room. Robots can also be used in hospital reception areas to direct visitors to the appropriate departments. In fact, there are a multitude of applications that can be carried out by robots in the health sector, the aim of which is to assist healthcare staff so that they can focus on essential medical procedures and spend more time with patients, with robots intervening in addition to the practitioner or relieving them of necessary but non-technical tasks.Robotics Place, we have created a dedicated healthcare hub that brings together 25 of our members involved in this sector. This includes research laboratories, international companies and surgical robotics startups, logistics robotics companies with applications in this field, design offices that develop robot sub-assemblies, and manufacturers of robots or components used in healthcare.Robotics Place will expand nationally. This network of medical robotics professionals aims to develop relationships between stakeholders in the sector in France, enable synergies, and serve as the entry point for healthcare professionals interested in robotics.Find all the information on the dedicated website: https://www.med-robotics-place.com/Robotics Place on the topic of Ethics Raja Chatila is an emeritus professor at the Sorbonne.
